The Platform Netflix and it's Dramas Ozark and The Crown, may have topped the TV nominations for the 26th Critics Choice Awards, but that didn't stop a few underdogs from making an impression over the past year.
The Critics Choice Association announced the series nominees on Monday, and Ozark and The Crown led the pack with six nods a piece.
But enough about the obvious, this year, nominations included a new "Short-form" category, which was dominated by Quibi with 4 out of 6 series on the ballot. Another eye opener is an unusual nod which comes from social media platform Facebook Watch for Jada Pinkett Smith's "Red Table Talk" in the Best Talk Show Category. Time are changing and the critics are here for it.
Taye Diggs will host the live show, which will air live on the CW on Sunday, March 7 from 7-9 p.m. ET/PT. Film nominees will be unveiled on Feb. 7, as well as the format of this year's ceremony.
