The new CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn has finally broken silence about some of the plans he and Co CEO Peter Safran have for their upcoming DC slate.
In a thread on Twitter, Gunn confirmed that Superman is part their upcoming DC slate. But, their Man of Steel will NOT be played by Henry Cavill.
"Peter & I have a DC slate ready to go, which we couldn’t be more over-the-moon about; we’ll be able to share some exciting information about our first projects at the beginning of the new year.Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman's life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill. But we just had a great meeting with Henry and we’re big fans and we talked about a number of exciting possibilities to work together in the future."
This is the most news we have gotten from the Warner/DC since the announcement of Gun. And Safran taking lead and amidst the rumors of numerous DC projects such as Wonder Woman 3 and Untitled Keaton Batman film getting cut from development.
One could only hope that this means more good news is on the way. We will keep you posted as more develops!
