The was more NBA/Movie news this week when NBA star Lebron James announced that his production company, Spring Hill Entertainment, will be producing a reboot to the 1990's classic hit House Party. Spring Hill Entertainment are no strangers to the world of film with already have Produced the 6 time award winning series 'Survivors Remorse' on Starz. It has also been confirmed that the House Party is said to be written by ATLANTA writers Steven Glover & Jamal Olori. Now I know what you're all thinking, please no, not another reboot to a classic, but this seems like they brought on the right team to bring on the funny. Either way, here's what Labron had to say.
"This is definitely not a reboot. It's an entirely new look for a classic movie," James told The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported about the project on Tuesday. "Everyone I grew up with loved 'House Party.' To partner with this creative team to bring a new 'House Party' a new generation is unbelievable."
The original House Party starred hiphop stars Christopher "KID" Reid and Christopher "PLAY" Martin better known as rap duo Kid n' Play. The flim went on to spawn two sequels and a two more less successful straight to dvd spin offs aswell. As for any of the original cast and or Labron making any cameos, nothing has yet to be confirmed so for now well just hope that this thing is in the best hands! What do you think?
