That's a wrap on the 97th Academy Awards and boy did it gone down in style with more surprises than we ever could have expected! The breathtaking opening performance by Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, set the tone immeadiately, letting us know that the night was going to be a magical one.

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony saw Actor Adrien Brody become a now, two-time Oscar winner! Tonight The Brutalist star won Best Actor for his portrayal of Holocaust survivor and architect László Tóth. The biggest surpise win for the evening went to Mikey Madison taking the Best Actress award in a shock victory after Demi Moore dominated in the category for much of awards season.
Anora not only took home Best Actress In Leading Role, it lead the night taking Best Picture, Best Director, Writing (Original Screenplay), and Film Editing. Close behind Anora was The Brutalist, as it won two more awards, including Cinematography, and Music (Original Score). Emilia Pérez, Wicked, and Dune: Part Two were the only other films to win multiple Academy Awards.
Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg reunited onstage while honoring the late Quincy Jones, who produced and wrote the score for The Color Purple. While Morgan Freeman shared a heartfelt tribute to late friend and fellow actor Gene Hackman, who had passed away with his wife in his home this week, during the 2025 Academy Awards.
